It explores the ways job safety analysis can be conducted and considers the importance of operating procedures and processes. Within this unit you'll undertake a job safety analysis and develop safe operating procedures for a specified job.

Then, you’ll consider how to assist staff experiencing OOS symptoms, to manage the risks associated with the condition. You’ll also be introduced to workstation principles, read about some people’s experiences of OOS and consider Bernadino Ramazzini’s wry observations on the topic.

- In this unit, you’ll discover the requirements of the Health and Safety in Employment (HSE) 1992 legislation and identify who is responsible for its implementation. You’ll look at the duties of employees and employers and consider the documented health and safety systems needed in the workplace. You’ll also look at how the Act is administered and enforced.
- In this unit, you’ll look at the requirements of the Injury Prevention, Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2001 in relation to work related injuries and illnesses. You’ll also examine workplace early reporting and intervention requirements and be introduced to the claim lodgement and rehabilitation process.
